The Cincinnati Bengals are heading into their bye week with plenty to figure out as they look to build momentum for the second half of the 2026 NFL season. Despite a 3–2 start, Cincinnati still has several issues to address if it wants to compete for the AFC North title. In this video, we're breaking down the biggest questions facing the Bengals coming out of the bye and what needs to change moving forward.

Can Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins get the offense firing consistently? Cincinnati has plenty of talent in the passing game, but establishing a reliable running game and finding the right offensive balance remain important challenges for Zac Taylor and his coaching staff.
On the defensive side, stopping the run has become a major concern. Can new additions Dexter Lawrence, Jonathan Allen and Boye Mafe help turn things around and give Cincinnati the defensive front it needs to compete against the NFL's best teams? The Bengals also need to figure out their secondary, improve tackling and communication, and find ways to prevent opponents from producing explosive plays.
Another major issue is eliminating costly mistakes. Turnovers, penalties and special-teams breakdowns can quickly change the outcome of close games, and Cincinnati cannot afford to keep giving opponents extra opportunities. With the Baltimore Ravens looming after the bye, the Bengals have a crucial opportunity to make adjustments and show that they can compete with the top teams in the AFC.
Can Cincinnati clean up its biggest weaknesses and make a serious run in the AFC North, or will these problems continue to hold the team back? Which concern should the Bengals prioritize most coming out of the bye?

The Cincinnati Bengals are making a move to reinforce their defense by signing linebacker Jack Kiser to the active roster, but the team is also dealing with disappointing injury news involving tight end Tanner Hudson. Hudson is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering a torn pectoral muscle, creating another challenge for Cincinnati as it looks to maintain momentum following its 31-24 victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Kiser arrives in Cincinnati after being claimed off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday. The move comes after linebacker Swayze Bozeman suffered a broken forearm against Miami and was placed on injured reserve. Kiser, a former Notre Dame standout and fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, brings familiarity with defensive coordinator Al Golden's system. Golden coached Kiser at Notre Dame, where the linebacker played 70 career games and helped the Fighting Irish reach the national championship game. That connection could help Kiser get acclimated quickly and provide valuable depth at a position dealing with injuries.
The bigger concern, however, is Hudson's injury. The veteran tight end had recently been signed to the active roster after beginning the season on the practice squad. Against Miami, he caught three passes for 14 yards and a touchdown, providing a timely contribution to Cincinnati's passing attack. His seven receptions for 33 yards and a score this season don't fully capture his value as a reliable depth option and a player quarterback Joe Burrow can trust in key situations.
With Hudson likely sidelined for the rest of the year, Cincinnati could turn to rookie tight end Jack Endries for an expanded role behind Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample and Erick All. Endries has seen limited offensive action so far, making this a potential opportunity for the seventh-round pick to establish himself.
Ultimately, Kiser's arrival addresses an immediate defensive need, while Hudson's injury creates another obstacle on offense. The Bengals will need contributions from their depth players on both sides of the ball if they hope to remain competitive throughout the season.

Joe Burrow delivered four touchdown passes, showing why he's one of the NFL's elite quarterbacks. With Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins battling injuries, the Bengals offense relied on short passes, efficient execution, and taking what the Dolphins defense gave them. Chase still delivered a spectacular one-handed touchdown grab, while Tanner Hudson, Mike Gesicki, and Samaje Perine made important contributions.
Jordan Battle was one of Cincinnati's biggest defensive stars, recording two interceptions against Malik Willis. Samaje Perine also made a strong case for a bigger role in the Bengals backfield after an impressive performance. But despite the win, Cincinnati's run defense, special teams, turnovers, and fourth-quarter execution remain major concerns.
We also discuss Dexter Lawrence's difficult outing, Eric All Jr.'s costly mistakes, Chase Brown's fumble, and why the Bengals struggled to put Miami away despite controlling much of the game. Cincinnati won the turnover battle, but allowing the Dolphins to make it a one-score game exposed issues that must be fixed before the team's next big test.
With the bye week arriving at a crucial time, can the Bengals get healthier, improve their running game, and prepare for a pivotal AFC North showdown against the Baltimore Ravens?
Is this Bengals team a legitimate Super Bowl contender, or are these warning signs too concerning to ignore?

In this podcast, we break down Burrow taking ownership of his second interception against the Jacksonville Jaguars and why the Bengals quarterback isn’t shying away from the mistake. Burrow explained his decision-making on the play and showed the accountability you want to see from a franchise quarterback.
We also dive into Burrow’s comments about Cincinnati’s under-center run game. Despite the Bengals’ struggles running the football, Burrow made it clear that he believes in the system and isn’t looking to abandon it. Why does Burrow remain confident in the under-center approach, and what needs to change for it to become more effective?
Another major storyline is the Bengals potentially being without both Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. With Chase working through concussion protocol and Higgins dealing with an injury, Cincinnati could be forced to lean on its depth at wide receiver. Burrow discussed the adjustments that come with potentially losing his top two targets and why he remains confident in the players stepping into bigger roles.
We’ll break down Burrow’s comments, what they mean for the Bengals offense and what to watch for against Miami.
If you’re a Cincinnati Bengals fan, this is everything you need to know from Joe Burrow’s latest press conference.
